I second that the Holiday Inn Resort in Phuket was great. I would stay there again, the kids loved it too. For other suggestions on Thailand, you can call Dnata Holidays at 8008118 they have several packages to Thailand.

It is Hot season in Thailand now through to end of April/May, I often go in the April holidays (not to Koh Samui though) & also have a toddler but it can be fairly warm, nothing compared to hot season here though!!! thanks MontyDog, can you recommend any good area and accommodation ? Doesn't have to be Koh Samui necessarily so long as its child friendly, nice and relaxing for me (i'm preggers) and not too boring for DH .... too much to ask do you think? thanks for your reply All areas of Thailand are fab & very child friendly, phuket is always a good choice & easily accesible from Bangkok, I stayed in Koh Samui once & it wasnt my favourite of the islands but I think thats because we stayed in the wrong part, I dont really know where the right parts are though! If you fancied Phuket then I have heard that the Holiday Inn Patong is excellent for kids plus its right in the heart of Patong which is where all the action is it but at the same time Patong does a pretty good job of keeping the 'not so family friendly' activites away from the main strip which is great, further along in Phuket is Karon beach, we stayed at the Movenpick there once, that was pre child days but it was lush (take one of the villas rather then the rooms in the main building) & I believe has a lot going on for kids & still only a 15 min tuk tuk ride into Patong.

We went to Phuket in November and stayed at the Sheraton in the Laguna resort, at the time our dd was 13 months. There was lots going on and nice pools and a beach. There are a few hotels in the resort and a little ferry that runs between them. We stayed in a villa with friends of ours and once the girls were in bed we got a baby sitter and went out for dinner to some really nice places in and near the resort. If you want more info on what types of activities we did with the LO's please let me know.
