Hi DutchInubai did you move to JVC? We are moving to Dubai in Jan and thought on line the houses in JVC look best value for money. Is the area developed or still a construction site? Can you go for walks/jog easlily? is it easy to meet people? I am going with my husbands job and do not have employment and my kids have left home Look forward to hearing about your experience in JVC

Good luck with your move and I hope it all goes smoothly for you. BTW JVC District 16 has its own fb page so if you do get any problems with the house - everyone has the same so they can nearly always help with advice.

Hi Cosmos Friend! Thank you so much :-) That helps a lot actually and is comforting to know too haha So far it looks like we have a deal on the house so I'll probably be moving to your neighborhood in a few weeks! Fingers crossed! I don't mind the party sounds sometimes and if I'll be having one, you can always come over haha Thanks again for the info!

Hi DutchieInDubai Just to let you know that I live in District 16 and where I live there is no construction work. Have lived there for over 2 years and really enjoy it. I think there are some people that have had problems with their houses but overall the one I am in has been fine. There is a Choitrams nearby which has recently opened which is great and there is a coffee shop although I haven't been but I do believe some people meet up there. There is an ENOC garage being built along Hessa St and plans for access in and out of JVC to Hessa St although I don't know when that will be done. Very rare that we have any traffic problems where I am, although believe there are a few racers around JVC - you can here dogs barking constantly as well when you sit outside so make sure you don't move next door to that. I really like living there - sometimes hear the odd party going on and the main annoying thing is that I haven't been invited! Hope that helps.

Hi 37Mirlo, Thanks for your feedback. Sorry to hear that you are leaving the area because of all the construction. We'll have to look carefully at the sectors. Yesterday we visited a very nice house in district 16, which seems to be all finished, but we'll have to see how it goes. Could you tell me a bit more about the neighborhood itself? I saw some shops around and on the JVC Community site I noticed a lot is organized in the area as well. Everything is new to me so I'm just wondering if it will be easy to get in touch with people there and how it is on a daily basis. Maybe you can give me an idea? Very much appreciated!

Be careful where you move to. Sector 14 is a nightmare. Construction work 24 hrs / a day 7 days a week. The authorities seem unable to stop it. Contractors are given work permits to do quiet work during "out of hours" but then do whatever they want creating a great deal of noise - hammering and banging until 2 am and on Fridays. Security do their best to stop it but the contractors are out of control. I have lived there for 3 years and have now had enough and am moving.

Hi ladies, My name is Jolanda and I have just moved from the Netherlands to Dubai with my husband. We are looking into renting a house and we like the houses in JVC very much! I am just curious if anyone of you could give me a little bit more information about the area, what it's like to live there, how the community is and facilities etc so I have an idea of what to expect! I really appreciate your help! Thanks! :)
