Incorrect. You do not need to be muslim to have the Emirati Health card nor for the Citizenship.
Are there any non-muslim Emiratis? (just interested )
I'm sure there are some, but not many. Most are probably defectors or people who used to have another citizenship.
My understanding is that officially as an Emirati passport holder, you are declared as being Muslim. What you believe in your heart of course is something else.
Let's just assume that all Emiratis are Muslim.

Ok, thanks. I was referring to the citizenship. I also know of others but I was unsure of what the actual rules are.
Thank you for the clarification

I know several Americans married to Emiratis and each had a differing outcome with this. Seems a lot of it is who the husband is / knows. Some got it quicker others still waiting. I think you also have to be Muslim. Ladies am I correct?

Actually, I believe it is a case of the page in the nationality book that the wife is listed in, or if, perhaps the husband is carrying no.2 citizenship....but I really don't want to step down that path.
But i can state, for a fact that others have got it.

Are you talking about the health card issue or the nationality issue?

If my Emirati DH were to die, I wouldn't have to leave the country but my sponsor would change. I'd then be sponsored by my children.
I have heard that the law recently changed and that if an Emirati woman marries a foreigner, the kids can be Emirati but not the father.
Sorry, just being totally nosey, don't you guys ever get an Emirati passport then?
With citizenship, do you get an Emirati passport?
If an Emirati lady marries a non-Emirati man, does he get a passport?
Just interested....
A foreign woman married to an Emirati is eligible for Emirati citizenship after being in her husband's nationality booklet for a certain number of years (possibly 3 or 5). The reason many of us don't get Emirati passports is because we are required to renounce our other citizenship and many of us don't want to do that.
With citizenship, you get a passport.
The answer to your third question: no.
Hi! I just wanted to let everyone know that I went to the Rashid Hospital this morning and they told me there was no way that I could get an Emirati health card. They said the only way I could ever get one is if I had an Emirati passport. So there's the answer...
well your name should be in the back of the book before they will put the kids names in, then after 3 years they move you to your own page. Are you sure that you are not in the back page of the book Amy?
Thanks for your response, Amy. I will let you know how I get on. Be sure to get your name in the nationality book. Then you can get citizenship after 3 years, I believe.
Hi. You had mentioned a few weeks ago that you'd go to the Rashid Hospital to get a non-foreigner health card. I am going there myself on Sunday so could you tell me which papers were necessary? Thanks a lot!
