We are soon going to be moving to the Marina area and have been thinking about the original six on Marina Walk as they are so handy for everything. Also considering serviced apartment in similar area. Anyone got any opinions on good, quality buildings handy for metro.

We are in Mag218 just opposite Citibank at the Original 6. We have no complaints here, the apts are some of the biggest we seen and they are new. There is a little construction noise when you first move in but you soon filter that out :)

We looked at this area for ages and settled on "The Waves", it's close to JLT metro and Almaya supermarket, far enough away from SZR to not to be noisy, no traffic dramas, it has great pool, gym and tennis facilities, good finishes, good sized balconies. Would recommend you spend an afternoon walking around the area, go in and ask the security guys if there are any apartments for rent, they often have the key and will let you in for a look.

I've spent a lot of time lately looking at places in the marina area. Original 6 are great and that is the best end of the marina to go as the traffic can get really bad round JBR end. If you have 2 cars you might have a job finding a place for the second car, Original 6 is fab for the metro connection.

the original six are lovely and as long as your contract is good then you can get the internals fixed and lovely. We are at the gloria hotel - sheik zayed rd (serviced apts 20 paces away fro the metro station) fantastic apartments - customer services could do with a shake up when the hotel is full - as its been for the last 6 weeks but they are due to open the sister property over the road in march _ serviced apt's only .. price is good .. facilites are 5 star ..

The Original 6 are certainly well located and have excellent facilities, but sadly many are showing signs of age and are a bit tatty inside.
