My daughter is turning 10 in May. I think we are going to do CLUB RUSH @ Atlantis.. they have a dj, dancing competitions, video games, popcorn, drinks & nachos.. it is "fairly" reasonable.. Runs around 160AED per child.
I think I'll look into that too.....

My daughter is ten in May and she wants a dance party. I was going to hire a studio and a dance teacher and get them to do some street dancing and put together a routine they could show off at the end. Maybe tie it in with CndExpat's idea and get hair etc all done for the final show! It is a really difficult age - my daughter is now at the age where she doesn't like holding my hand at school and kisses me goodbye on the forehead. :(
I have 2 daughters, aged 12 and 10, and probably the biggest hit party we've had is a spa themed one.
You can set up stations at home for hair, nails, make-up...hire a couple of teenagers to help the girls with application...then set up some singalong or dance game on the wii or playstation or something like that, so the girls that are waiting for "treatment" can help.
It takes a little planning, but not a huge cost, and the girls usually have quite a blast!
We had one when we lived in Australia, and there was a company that provided this - brought in pink bathrobes for each girl, a couple of Uni students to help out and the game set for the singalong. It was so fun for them!
Good luck!
