There is a big hole in the market for realistic, honest and service orientated rental agents who listen and act with both the landlord and tenants best interests in mind. Build a good reputation and you will be as busy as you chose to be. Good Luck x

Working in rentals is more difficult than it used to be as there is a much greater choice now and so people shop around a lot more. I've never worked in real estate but I understand that the agency takes part of the commission and some goes to the agent. I think your earnings will depend to a large degree on what area you are working in;the Marina, Palm, Ranches & Greens all rent well but other areas are feeling the pinch. Good luck!

Hi! And welcome :). I worked in rentals for a while a few years ago when I was in between jobs. The market will be totally different now, so I probably can't help you with that one, but the job's probably pretty much the same. You end up trying to convince landlords that no, nobody's going to pay an extra 20k for their property just because it's bigger/better/brighter/whatever and that letting it go for 10k under the asking price is actually not as bad as it sounds because it won't sit empty losing you 15k a month, and trying to convince tenants that no, the landlord's not going to fit a new kitchen/throw in a maintenance contract/take 12 cheques because they think he should. It's a battle! I was probably rubbish at the job because I was happier sorting landscaping, doing DEWA connections and buying fridges than I was with all the sales and negotiating stuff, so I ended up overworking myself for b*gger all. If it's commission only you'd need to speak to someone who's actually doing the job now to make sure it's worth your time. Otherwise, it could well be a lot of running around for little return. Welcome to Dubai!!. I am sure you will enjoy it and make the most it. Sorry but I do not know anything about Property Rental careers but wanted to say 'Welcome'.! I left my banking career to follow my hubby's career here 2 years ago and went through all sorts of emotions about leaving my career in the beginning, but I have two young boys that keep me very busy.
