Hi - we are a small family DH & DD (6) who want to head for a reasonable priced family holiday for a week - don't need luxuries - love thailand, but a bit far & expensive flights just for a week, love Goa, but monsoon, done sri lanka - liked it, but terrible roads...

any other suggestions, happy to do budget flights and sc - any suggestions welcome

(budget guide) 2,000 USD / 10,000 AED for a week - do-able?

CdnExpat It is often cheaper to take some time and look at what the package tours are offering then check the prices on line yourself, 9 out of 10 times it will work out cheaper to book flights/hotels seperately and a lot cheaper to use budget airlines if flying locally. i have just saved my husband and a friend about 2000dhms each on a trip to the HK 7's by doing it this way.

Had a long weekend in Lebanon for a wedding, Beirut fabulous and there are areas where you could be drinking coffee in the South of France. Also went to Byblos for the wedding a delightful little village, one of the longest inhabited places in the world. Will go back child free to take advantage of the night life!

What about Egypt, Jordan or Nepal. We've done budget holidays with 2 kids to all those places and had lots of fun.
