Congrats on your wedding..no comments about online shopping - typical Dubai :) Why does everyone always have it in for Dubai? I have terrible trouble trying to send stuff from within Canada to my nephews in Vancouver, in fact, most of the online shops I have tried won't let me purchase with a foreign credit card, so I have to take an extremely roundabout route to get pressies to them, or they just get money. I really think that people from the UK and the US don't realize how privileged they are, not everyone else in the world has the facility to do internet shopping (Greece, don't think about it; a couple of grocery stores in Switzerland have just recently become well set-up for online grocery shopping but internet shopping is by no means the norm there; France, I'm not even sure if you can order groceries on line and get them delivered), so don't make out it's an "only in Dubai" thing, because it's not :) There, that's my rant for the day :D Many congratulations on your wedding, Mary, I hope it all goes well! How about you creating a wedding-list with a particular store here, putting it on-line yourself, or emailing it to all your friends, getting them to tell you what they would like to give you and then their giving you the money to pay for it, so at least they know where their money is going, if you see what I mean? Sounds a bit complicated, I know, but might be a solution.

Congratulations. We got married here but with the majority coming from the UK, we had a list at Selfridges for those coming over and had things delivered to them to bring with and just a box for money if people preferred

Sorry but i just need to vent my frustration about on-line ordering. I'm getting married in 2 months and visited my favourite stores this evening to set up gift registration (we weren't going to do anything but many of the guests have been asking as they want to buy gifts and not just give money). Anyway, you'd think i was asking to buy the store or something by the looks i got! "oh no madam...people can't order on line, they have to visit the store to purchase"!!! That doesn't really work when 60% are coming from overseas. We can build the worlds tallest building and have the biggest this and tallest that yet on-line ordering is a complete no no. feel better now. thanks for listening :-)
