For example:
Dill Dh63.75 for 1!!

What does this mean? 1 kg? You can't order less than "1". I don't want 1kg of a herb. How does this work?

To the people who have ordered from mazaraa, how do you know what they do/don't have before ordering? Is there some sort of list available showing what they sell? Or do they go to JLT with a range of stuff and you pick from it?

There is a wonderful organic farmers market on Friday mornings at the Souk Al Bahar. All locally grown. I spoke to a British woman who has a stall there, and according to her, it is all certified organic. I didn't ask to see a certificate, though. Virtually all types of fresh vegetables, as well as stalls with bread, jams, etc. I think it usually starts around 10 or 10:30. Well worth a visit. It makes the produce at Organic Cafe look sad Unfortunately, they don't have meat, though :(

Received my order from Mazaraa (see below). Wow! fantastic produce and so cheap. Highly recommend them. The fresh whole chickens are so good. They are on the small size, but extremely tasty (ids had one for dinner) and for only 25AED!!! Also the eggs, delicious! My car smelt wonderful, filled with the smell of fresh strawberries and herbs. If anyone remembers the smell you'd get when entering the Nazwa Farm shop in Umm Sequim, you'll know what I mean. The lady who runs it is hoping to open a shop here, but in the meantime, orders are collected from JLT (Tamweel Tower, very easy to find and parking easy). Big thanks to Nody for the contact! XX Won't be buying fresh produce from the Organic Store again!

Found this map on a previous thread: http://www.pedexrealestate.com/Images/Jumeirah-Lake-Towers.gif Tamweel Tower is no. 63. You'll have to take the JLT exit off SZR (Junction 5) and follow the signs for JLT. To get to this tower, you have to do a long loop and come back on yourself as all a one way system.

Contacted Mararaa last night and they sent me an order form straight away. Very reasonable and very easy order form. Fruit/veg/herbs are either by the Kilo, bunch or pack. It totals everything up for you. They only deliver to JLT, but you don't need to be a resident there. They can meet you in the lobby of Tamweel Tower (cluster U) at an arranged time for you to collect your goods. Zannie, is the meeting place easy to find, I don't live in JLT and never go there. TIA. :)

Thanks ladies for the info about the organic delivery. On a side note and FYI, I found fresh organic milk (yeo valley - UK) at Union Co-op on Al Wasl Road. It is nasty expensive though so only the kids get it - 18.50 for 1 litre! They also sell the same milk and the yoghurts in Aswaaq, still expensive and the woman who is marketing it is very annoying, every time I go in she is trying to flog it to me even though I have told her on countless occasions it is too expensive.

Thanks everyone. But my point is, the lowest amount you can order is 1 (which we have now established is a kg). I don't want 1kg of say coriander or dill or any other herb!! I guess I should just go in person :o) Thats true... quite annoying only being able to buy a kg of everything, they should do it in bunches...

BEET ROOT Price per Unit (kg): Dh26.50 If you click on the item it tells you what "1" means and "1" is a unit, so price per 1kg of Beet Root is 26.50

exile - you are right - I just tried the same thing. I realized that its for kilos - you have just tried to buy 10kgs of bananas and 8kgs of organic avocados !! Anyway I am going to tell them there is something wrong with the system and it should be more obvious. When I ordered I just called Shakil cos like to explain my fruit and veg.

I went to the site, and placed 10 bananas + 8 avocados to my cart. TOTAL BILL: AED 437.00 - I wonder what those people are smoking to charge that amount????? My question is, what are those who actually pay those amounts smoking?!!!

I have had deliveries from there - you can ask which days they get their veggies deliveries and there is a manager called Shakil who is in charge of this - he is great. Never had a wrinkly veggie yet ! Sometimes they don't have what you wanted tho. Ask them to call if they didn't so u can choose something else otherwise its annoying. I think the number of pieces thing on the list is that you choose and it tells you how many kilos that makes. I have shakils mob number - he probably won't thank me for ths but it is 050 6548813 - he can xplain. good luck ! ps can someone tell me how to delete this after u have taken his number as I haven't a clue ..

i would be hesitant to order online from organic food and cafe. i love them, but you have to see what the fruit and veg look like on the day and choose them yourself because sometimes they look pretty 'tired' - at least in the greens, not sure about dubai mall. edited by solaris on 17/03/2011

I know that organic cafe is too much expensive, for me each time i spend around 900 dirhams for my grocery, until i discover a new organic food come from a local farm and they have a free delivary for jlt comminuty. They have many things like free range egg, chiken, vegtables and some fruits. If you are interested just send email to [email protected] to requst price list and order form. good luck
