Facebook search is excellent - you can enter just a single word or name and it will show you all relevant posts either across the whole of facebook or just within a particular group. Its only fault is that sometimes there are too many results and you have to wade through a lot !!

I think a lot of users just post on Facebook groups now. Are there any good expat Facebook groups for Dubai that you recommend @ coco pops? I see quite a few for housing developments but any general ones? Thanks! Not sure if I'm allowed to name groups, but many communities have their own FB groups, so maybe do a search? I found lots of support from the gardening groups when I first started gardening here. I do agree with SEY83 , searching posts is much easier on here.

Agree, I think the new trend is Facebook groups. There are a lot of advantages to Facebook groups in terms of private messaging, posting photos, etc. However, I have to admit that I do prefer this type of forum. It is very difficult to find old posts on Facebook, and Facebook seems to order things how they want which is not necessarily chronological and some posts don't get a lot of notice for that reason. Basically I find posts getting lost all the time. Secondly, it's sometimes nice to be anonymous! I don't really have anything to hide but people nowadays like to Facebook "stalk", and people want to know details on the person behind a comment or opinion.
