I always give up chocolate for lent - not for any religious reasons but it's a bit of a challenge and I REALLY appreciate my easter eggs! (I have half a packet of chocolate hobnobs at home that are going to have to go tonight!)

What on earth do pancakes have to do with shrove tuesday? And does this mean easter is next weekend? We LOVE pancake Tuesday - the day of the year we eat pancakes for dinner - my kids love it. Why pancakes? Because pancakes are made with eggs, flour and milk and during Lent (in my grandmother's time) they would give up all that for the 40 days, because it's a luxury item. What have people decided to give up for Lent this year? For me it's all things dessert :( It's gonna be a long 40 days, but on the upside, I may lose 10lbs :)
