Looking at purchasing the new iPad 2 when it comes out next week (lucky for me, hubby is in the US right now), but I'm wondering a couple things.

1. Is there an app that you can download for reading pdf docs? I've heard yes, and no.

2. How do get access to the 3G? Do you have to subscribe through Du or Etisalat? What is the monthly cost for that?

I think thats all for now. Thanks for the help!!

Yes, there are a number of PDF readers - easy, no problem. You get data access either thru wifi or Etisalat/Du 3G. Etisalat do micro SIMs on PAYG with 3 options - 1GB is AED 145 a month, 5 and 10GB (think 295 and 395). Or, if you have an iPhone postpay package you can get 2 SIM cards and share 2GB data between the iPad and iPhone - can prob do the same with other handsets. I'm sure Du do similar deals but a bit cheaper although I have found their coverage esp 3G to be patchy.
