For goodness sake just go to C4 and buy an steam iron that looks as if it will do the job for a few months, it doesn;t matter what it is or how much you spend as withing the year it will die on you regardless. SW, you obviously haven't use a steam station before... ;) THEY ALL WORK AT FIRST< LIKE MAIDS THEY CONK OUT DOWN THE LINE> I've had the iron you suggested and it lasted 6 months, hate the steam station things. I'll be grateful for something that actually works in the first place..

I can definitely recommend one of these steam stations. I told my DH I am willing to do the ironing if I can have a steam station. Ironing is a breeze with it. I have the Tefal Pro Express Anti-Calc and are very happy with it. It is pricey, but worth every dirham. I used another brand at home for my sewing and will never be able to use anything else. Just a caution, buy one with a removable water tank, because the other ones can be a bit of a pain if you have to wait for the iron to cool down before you can add water again. I speak of experience here.

Hmm I just had to purchase a new steam iron last week. As it would be me this time using it I chose a Bosch sensixx B7. It steams like a train and glides like Torvill and Dean. Not too heavy = ;-)

What sort of steam iron do you recommend? I've bought my fair share not too expensive Phillips, Tefal and Rowenta ones in the past, but none of them work particularly well. Am I going to have to bite the bullet and fork out for one of those heavy-duty steam press jobbies and if so, any good experiences?
