I ordered some stuff from a company in the US, its all for personal use. They are sending it via USPS. Will I have to pay customs duties or anything of the sort when i get it here?
Anyone knows?

I just received a parcel via USPS last week. Took about a week longer than Aramex but was definitely cheaper. I paid Dhs2 as customs duty or maybe a handling charge and the parcel was valued at around $160. Mine did not come to the address stated on the package. I had a tracking number and checked online on the USPS site and it was updated constantly. I called the central post office number (you can find it online) and asked if it had arrived and which post office I should collect it at - they were quite helpful when I called.

I hope you don't have to pay but be prepared to just in case. I use Shop & Ship through Aramex quite often, I had a shipment held here waiting for my 5% customs payment (the shipment was valued at US$200), another time my goods were valued at US$300....had the money ready to pay and then they never asked, LOL. As mentioned, it just seems to be on the day who is working and if they can be bothered.

I get stuff sent from my family quite often... I have only had to pay customs a couple of times. It just all depends--most likely who is working that day. One thing is, while before if a package was marked as a gift they used to not charge customs, they now charge--at their discretion of course.

Most likely not. The only time I was asked to pay duty on a parcel sent via USPS was by a very irate and nasty Post Office worker who insisted that I was going to re-sell the items in the parcel. Managed to sort out the situation with his manager.
