I have been using helping hands for the last 6 months and a few times my maid has turned up quite sick but now she cannot walk! The company do not provide medical cover for her and she has to pay out of her own pocket. If she does not turn in for work she does not get paid also. Is this right? A friend of mine who uses this maid also called the company and they gave the maid a hard time so they are watching her. Can anyone help me with the answer and if they should be providing their staff with medical cover and this company isnt, how I would go about reporting them. TIA

Not sure how they are employing them then as in a maids contract it states clearly medical has to paid by the sponsor, why not go and ask at DNRD and reprot the company if they are breaching the rules.

I have learnt recently that it is not compulsory in Dubai to offer medical insurance as part of salary package, but it is in Abu Dhabi. Not sure that is much help, I think they should cover them.
