Sound quality varies quite significantly between the cheap and expensive headsets. There is no need, however, to go for the most expensive ones. Also, forget the £2.99 one, get one in price range aed 50-75 and and you'll be fine. Brand doesn't really matter.
If you have a laptop with a built in mic but people can not here you
1. make sure the mike is on - control panel - sound - recording
2. make sure the right mic is set up in Skype - tools - options - audio settings
3. get a headset - it will 'sort' all the problems
I've broken 2 Logitech headsets (with mic for Skype) in the past month, now using an AED17 one from Sharaf which has terrible sound (go figure!). Any recommendations of a brand I can buy easily here, not USB port if poss as using vv old PC?
TIA.
