When i saw primer i immediately thought painting a car, i really need to become more feminine. watching this thread for advice closely..i only use concealer if i have bad skin blemishes! :-) Yeah i thought of house paint :) I'm also not too make-up savvy. I may learn something here the funny part is that we opened this link looking to get info about car and house paint!

Lucia, primer is good for minimising pores and making make up look smoother and last longer. Bobbi brown do a lovely one in a little pot, cannot recall name but smells gorgeous and works well.

4sidekicks, where do you find MAKEUP FOREVER HD Microperfecting Primer in Dubai? thanks I bought it the Paris Gallery in Town Centre on Beach Rd. (next to Mercato). They also carry MAKEUP FOREVER at Sephora, but as I mentioned earlier there is a woman who works at this location who is great. HTH

I have used the following primers which are all water-based (not silicone): 1. Guerlain meteorites primer 2. Kanebo Sensai Smoothing Water Make-Up Base 3. MAKEUP FOREVER HD Microperfecting Primer Sorry don't mean to pick on you but Guerlain contains silica (which is silicon dioxide) and Make up Forever contains all imaginable versions of silicone (read the pack). Yes, water is the greatest ingredient, but silicon makes primers stick and slide. Note, it's not written silicone on the pack, but you will see for example "dimethicone" and any word ending with CONE is a silicon ingredient. Same in shampoos and conditioners. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I actually read the reviews at that website, but I wanted to know about using it here in Dubai. Mostly I want to use it to camouflage pores ---again, the weather here is really messing with my skin, and now my pores look huge. I have combination skin, but in summer it's most oily than combination. Its not always the weather. The fruits and veggies here are full of chemicals to last longer and the meats are imported and not really fresh. Maybe just reasses what you are eating and drinking first but yes,the weather does mess up combination skin!

Lucia, There is a great website called makeupalley.com where people review various products.I usually look there if I am on the hunt for something new. You can view a limitied number of reviews, but then you have to sign up to be a member to view more. HTH

MAKEUP FOREVER HD Microperfecting Primer I like all three, but if I had to choose one it would be the MAKEUP FOREVER one in neutral. The woman at the MAKEUP FOREVER counter at the Paris Gallery on beach rd is really fantastic btw.

You didn't say what type of skin you have. It may be possible that a primer will be no benefit to you at all. Also, most primers are silicone based, is that really what you want to put on your face?

hello, ladies, I'm considering to start using primer under my makeup, but does it worth it here? The humidity concerns me, and also the fact that since I'm living here I notice more blackheads, and I don't know if the primer can make it worse. Any comments? Reviews on good primers? Thanks
