Hi ladies,

I need your help in clarifying the following:
1. How long is the visit visa upon arrival for Europeans (EU) now? It used to be 60 days but then got reduced to 30 days. Is it still only 30 days?
2. How much is it to renew the visit visa also for Europeans (EU) through Hatta or RAK? it used to be AED 60 + insurance (which we didn't usually pay a sit was only for our guests to renew their visa) but we didn't do it for a long time and are afraid we are not much updated on prices.

thanks ladies.

yep just because they dont ask for it doesnt mean that you dont need it. Its just the same with part time maids, just because they tell you that "i have my own visa" doesnt mean to say that its illegal to employ them without sponsorship, or the fact that in liquor shops they dont ask for your licence, they wont be the one to get into trouble for not having one, it will be u!

Hi SalsB It's gonna cost 85 dhs all in. When I take my car through, they have never asked for the insurance papers (so no extra cost there) but they will want to see his Vehicle Registration Card. Haha! And you thought you would be telling me what to bring!!!! u should have your insurance just in case, they usually dont ask but you will be in trouble if you dont have it. Our insurance covers Oman, so we are ok. yep if with axa its covered.

TashB since the registration card mentions the insurance company they might not ask because of that... don't know. However, we have always been asked for our car documents. My advice is to whoever to go to Oman to have an insurance - you don't want to be there without insurance in case you have an accident, believe me!!! If you are just re-entering to change the visa, then there is no need.

Thank you, TashaB. salsB: I believe that whenever you cross the border you have to pay for it but if you have a residency visa here as TashB says then you pay only 35 + 50 = 85 aed per person + car insurance (but some insurance policies already include insurance for Oman and you don't have to pay, like Oman Insurance). Oh so we only pay leaving and not on re entering!!!!!

Hi Marydots Yes, as I understand for all Europeans, the visit visa is now for 30 days. I renew DS's visit visa every month and it's 35 dhs exiting out of Dubai and then 200 dhs at the Oman border. If you will be going with them and you have a residence visa, it will be 50 dhs at the Oman border for those with residence visas plus the 35 dhs at the Dubai border.
