So my friend in Abu Dhabi rescued a cat from the street thinking that he is a Turkish mix, he is fully ginger color but not very long hair.. anyway he was brought to Dubai to one of the clinics to board and check up in order to put him for adoption.. I saw the cat and he is small in size, not a 100% Arabian mau for sure and definitely he was someone’s pet one day as he is very much used to cuddles.. We all thought that he is maximum 1 year old, due to his size and also the look on his face.

The poor thing looked so worried, in panic and his eyes.. Oh his eyes looked so sad :( I really wished if he understands me while I was telling him that all will be ok.

I got some shocking news now as the vet said that he is between 5 and 7 yrs old and got some teeth infection which can be treated. The cat is not neutered and not micro-chipped.

I am ready to contribute in anything possible to help this cat but I cannot at all give me a home myself. I have tried with 3 different cat visitors and my Siamese simply doesn’t accept a 3rd cat in the house. I have already saved last month a cat almost 8 years old when the owners took her twin sister back to UK and because this cat had a micro-chip problem , the owners didn’t want to pay any extra money so they asked the vet to put the cat with the microchip problem to sleep and they took her twin sister back to UK. Since the cat was healthy and soooo much friendly I refused the idea of putting her to sleep and I convinced my aunty to give her a home while I will pay for anything needed for the cat (vet check-ups, food, etc…)

Please tell me what are the chances of finding a home for this cat if I get him fixed and vaccinated? Do you know anyone who would be able to save his life? The sad look on his face really broke my heart and I am against the idea of putting him to sleep.. don’t know what to do.. By the way, the cat is a very handsome boy.. I cannot believe that this is his age!!

SueB, this is not the cat "who is staying in my garden" :) This is another one, my friend rescued him from Abu Dhabi and he was staying at the clinic. I really didnt have much hope of finding a home for him quickly so I am really really happy that a very nice lady decided to take him. They bought for him lot of things from the clinic so it seems that he will be a spoiled boy in their house :) The other cat (who is 2 and 7 months years old and his name is Caramel) is still looking for a home, updated details are on the thread "what should I do with this cat?".. SO many cats in my life :D

Ladies, I have brilliant, super great news :) The handsome boy has taken a French lady's heart and she adopted him today :) :) :) After a long day at work yesterday and a terrible day today, these are the only news that can cheer me up! A special thanks to Lucky Vet and Marwan who agreed to take the cat in the clinic until he found a home.. <em>edited by JS on 29/03/2011</em>

Oh now I have some hope that I will find a home for him. I am just too busy in these coming few days so I won't be able to visit the vet to take some new pictures of him until Saturday. I want to take him for a shower, brush him and put a collar on his little neck and make him look more handsome. He is just so sweet, when he was in his cage, he looked at me with his sad eyes and meowed a very low meow, I almost heard it and then he was opening his little mouth as when he meows but without sound at all :( He standed on the cage's door and just touched my nose with his little paw.. very gentle and sweet..

JS, he is absolutely gorgeous! ...and that face, it's so adorable, with his worried look, he will melt hearts!! He does look like a mix of Turkish Angora, I bet his fur is soft. As for finding him a forever home ...Yes I do believe it is possible, just because he is old does not necessarily mean he will be over-looked, as I notice, it is also depends on what the cat looks like, and he is a very handsome fellow :) Advertise, tell everyone about him, friends/family, Vets, Dubizzle & Forums, post Facebook ads with picture of him on all rescue/re-homing pages, place posters at supermarkets etc. etc. Best of Luck for him finding the owners that he needs very soon xx

https://picasaweb.google.com/117115329800504306782/Mar202011# Here are some photos of the sad little thing, I cannot stop thinking about the look in his eyes.. Do you think this is Arabian Mau? He might look dirty in the pictures but the photos were taken when he reached the clinic.. After few weeks of good care, he will be more fat, clean and ready to go to a new home..
