Hi ladies,
Does anyone know why gardeners are able to work for multiple employers i.e. part time at several villas, but it is illegal for maids to do this? Who is sponsoring the gardeners?
Just curious as I think so many people would love to be able to 'share' a maid to be able to get her a few days a week... it is pretty frustrating that you have to sponsor someone full time or not have anyone at all. Currently I am getting someone through an agency but it is expensive, but at least it is legal!
TIA

Sorry, bit late to reply but thx for your response. Seems rules/rights/conditions are all completely different for domestic visa holders.

Firstly gardeners are not on domestic visas. They are mostly employed by Dubai Municipality and most of them have permission to work part time. Not all of them though, a lot of them are absconders (Afghani etc) and these are illegal. Ours works for DM and has permission to work for us.
