Hi all,
I don't know if this is a hoax or not, or if i'm allowed to post this here or not, but a friend of mine sent me this today and i felt I should warn others. Better be safe then sorry, right?

"UAE Police Warning - Please read.

While driving on a rural end of the roadway in Al Warqa on Thursday morning,I saw an infant car seat on the side of the road with a blanket drapedover it. For whatever reason, I did not stop, even though I had all kinds of thoughts running through my head. But when I got to my destination,I called the Police and they were going to check it out. But, this is what the Police advised even before they went out there to check....

"There are several things to be aware of ... gangs and thieves are now plotting different ways to get a person (mostly women) to stop theirvehicle and get out of the car.

"There is a gang initiation reported by the local Police where gangsare placing a car seat by the road...with a fake baby in! It...Waiting for a woman, of course, to stop and check on the abandoned baby.

"Note that the location of this car seat is usually beside a woodedor grassy (field) area and the person -- woman -- will be dragged into the woods, beaten and raped, and usually left for dead. If it's aman, they're usually beaten and robbed and maybe left for dead, too.

DO NOT STOP FOR ANY REASON!!!

DIAL 999
AND REPORT WHAT YOU SAW, BUT DON'T EVEN SLOW DOWN.

"IF YOU ARE DRIVING AT NIGHT AND EGGS ARE THROWN AT YOUR WINDSCREEN,DO NOT STOP TO CHECK THE CAR, DO NOT OPERATE THE WIPER ANDDO NOT SPRAY ANY WATER BECAUSE EGGS MIXED WITH WATER BECOME MILKY AND BLOCKYOUR VISION UP TO 92.5% AND YOU ARE THEN FORCED TO STOP BESIDE THE ROAD AND BECOME A VICTIM OF THESE CRIMINALS.

THIS IS A NEW TECHNIQUE USED BY GANGS, AROUND AL KHAWANEEJ , MIRDIFF, AL AWEER , AL WARQA , INT.CITY , SO PLEASE INFORM YOUR FRIENDS AND RELATIVES.

THESE ARE DESPERATE TIME! S AND THESE ARE UNSAVOURY INDIVIDUALS WHO WILL TAKE DESPERATE MEASURES TO GET WHAT THEY WANT."
Please talk to your loved ones about this. This is a new tactic used. Please be safe."

thanks for the clarification! I'm left puzzled however about the point of making these stories up then... What's the bl88dy point? I agree, what is the point of this type of spam? As a female driving alone (& I drive 270 kms a day) it'd take a war ship in the middle lane to even consider me slowing down let alone stop to investigate!!! Gullible I might be, stupid I am not (NOT that I'm calling any previous posters stupid nor gullible!!). Saying that...... if I did find myself driving in wooded grasslands in the UAE I might consider slowing down, a bit .......... :-) x edited by Loopy Lotti on 16/02/2011

thanks for the clarification! I'm left puzzled however about the point of making these stories up then... What's the bl88dy point? Unnecessary email forwarding is helping spammers. In a big way. If a spammer gets one of those forwards, they can add everyone of those email addresses to their mailing list because they are all right there for the world to see in the body of the email. So by hitting forward, you might be causing your friends to get more spam. The moral of that story is this. If you can’t overcome the compulsion to forward stuff to bunches of your friends, at the very least use the BCC function and Blind Carbon Copy them all. that way their email addresses are hidden and the only one the spammers will see is yours. Which might even be considered by some to be a touch of justice. That way the person doing the unnecessary forwarding is the same one getting the spam in return! http://successcreeations.com/244/3-reasons-why-you-should-stop-forwarding-those-emails/
