Has anyone consulted at a pvt gyn/obs but delivered at Al wasl hospital? Is this possible? I have heard that we need to do the scans at al wasl as they do not accept reports from any other clinic. Alternatively, do they hand over reports and scans to the patient to show the pvt dr? How does this work with appointments and tests? Does one need to repeat every consultancy and test in both places?

Thx vixster. yes i need the sbcu ( previous complications) that is the sole reason for me to opt for al wasl. If all goes well until 32 weeks and things look like they will be ok then ill probably go to american or city. lets see how things progress. Thanks for your input - definitely valuable.

Thanks Ladies! I defi need to open a file at al wasl. I had a complicated pregnancy and premature delivery the first time and i need to make sure i have the neo natal service if i need it again. Hence Al wasl. When is the cut off date ( weeks into prgnancy) for registration? Is the first appt only given at 16 weeks! ? Thats after the 4th month? I had the same worries....what does one do if the advice from two drs is contradictory... ? So i gather 5000 Dhs is the ante natal package and you pay seperately for the delivery?

Of course it's possible but I would say with the AED 5K now required to register at Al Wasl it may have become financially prohibitive for some to keep two sets of appointments. Given the 5K includes all scans and appointments from week 16 onwards I for one saw a private OBGYN until I was eligible for the Al Wasl package and then just switched to that.

hello... yes, am seeing a doc privately at medcare and she reccommended that i also open a file at wasl. it costs 5000dhs but you get all the scans and appointments etc with that. i then take all my reports etc to my doc at medcare. it gets a little confusing though with advice and knowing who to listen to, im still undecided about where to deliver, the cost at al wasl is only marginally cheaper than at medcare. hope that helps.
