So after some very helpful ladies posted about the possibility of Insurers not renewing contracts with City Hospital, I call the insurance and they confirmed that so far, members are covered up until the 31st Jan - I'm due to give birth on the 2nd Feb!!! It's infuriating that they weren't even going to notify me of this until the end of January!

Anyway, Ive been seeing Dr Elsa and been very happy with her and now desperately need to find a new doctor at American Hospital. Can anyone recommend someone who is pro-natural? Ive seen (a bit dated though) a few good reviews about Dr Braithwaite, anyone else?

I had a c-section done by Dr Braithwaite 4 weeks ago and it was great. I really like her and she did a good job and listened to what I wanted. In fact, all the medical staff who were in the operating theatre with me while it happened were lovely and very kind. The hospital itself was fine. Day nurses were nice, night nurses not so good. Food rubbish. At the end of the day though, I just wanted a good Dr and for baby to arrive safely. All of this happened!

which insurer do you have? I think it depends because I heard that some companies have already resolved this issue.

Just posted in the other thread about Dr BW, strongly don't recommend. Delivered DD2 with her 6 months ago.

Thanks so much for the support ladies. Its really comforting to hear positive reviews of Dr Braithwaite. Very ridiculous - apparently they've also changed owners, too, or something? But just as annoyed at them as the insurance company for not giving any notice whatsoever.

This is absolutely ridiculous! Edited to add... OP, all the best with your sudden change. Main thing is you have a safe delivery and healthy baby ;) edited by shellly on 05/01/2013

Thanks M - Any feedback is helpful! I decided to go with her and I've just managed to get an appointment next week, which I feel is pretty lucky so I'm trying to look on the positive side :)

Hi Millymoo Aww bless ya, what a stress....try not t let em get ya down:) I was looking to switch hospitals from AH to city as I really wasn't happy with dr nasreen at AH, but instead, I stuck to AH and am now seeing Dr Braithwaite....and though I haven't delivered with her (im 25wks) she seems great-very professional and thorough. Would recommend, though admittedly i haven't been with her for longer than a month. It's not a huge experience but hope it helps. M
