While there is the handiness of taxis and buses, there's nothing quite like the views on the world famous Dubai Metro and Dubai Tram. Nonetheless with the emirate always expanding and developing, you'll never be at a loss of how to get to A to B easily.
So to help you get started, check out each detailed guide we have about every mode of transport on offer in Dubai, and you'll never be lost again!
Dubai Metro
Perhaps the most popular and recognisable mode of transport in Dubai, the Dubai Metro sits in the centre of the city, alongside the bustling highway we know and love (or hate) as Sheikh Zayed Road. Every stop is at a popular destination, like Mall of the Emirates, Jumeirah Lake Towers or Deira, and is a fantastic way to get around the city if your commute is on this path, or for a day excursion on a weekend.

Dubai Tram
A young addition to Dubai's public transport network, the Dubai Tram can be found around Dubai Marina. Despite moans and groans from residents about the new tram line in the heart of the Marina, it actually provides a fantastic and comfortable mode of transport to get around the community when the weather gets a little too hot. Perfect to take your visitors on a tour, too! Again, if your commute sits on the tram's map, it's a very cheap and easy way to get to and from where you need to be.

RTA Taxis
This one wins the award for convenience; wherever you are in the city, there's no doubt you'll come across one of RTA's recognisable national taxis. Relatively cheap (in comparison to worldwide services), Dubai's taxis are a great way to get from A to B, quickly and efficiently. Especially when many of the drivers have been here years, know the roads like the back of their hands and have witnessed themselves the city of Dubai develop in front of them.

RTA Bus
Very, very cheap, and very easy to use, the RTA's buses are a great mode of transport if your commute surrounds their many networks across the city. Riding the bus became even more easy when they introduced payment via NOL card, so you won't be stuck without cash for your ride ever again.

Dubai Ferry
This is the perfect excursion to treat yourself to on a weekend, or to wow your visitors with when they come over. There's two journeys in Dubai; one in Dubai Marina and one on Dubai Creek. Both provide fantastic views of the skyline, as well as a breezy ride out into the open oceans. Get onto the Dubai Marina one and you'll see beautiful views of the recognisable Palm Jumeirah and all of its glorious hotels.

RTA Water Taxis
Like the road taxis, but on water. Literally, these private modes of transport are perfect for the days when you want to get out and about Dubai's marine areas, but it's either too hot or you're too lazy to walk.

Dubai Trolley
Perhaps the most fancy of the transport services on offer, the Dubai Trolley is the best and fastest way to beat the crowds and traffic around Downtown Dubai. Similar to Dubai Tram, in the sense that it only operates in one area of the city, the Dubai Trolley is beautifully ornate, and fits in perfectly with its awe-inspiring surroundings. Enjoy views of Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall and Downtown Boulevard.
