Parts of the country took a bashing over the weekend

For those of us in Dubai, we may have been miffed just having to battle a minor sand storm, gusts of wind and a spot of low visibility over the past few days.
But elsewhere in the country, both humans and animals alike were left somewhat defenceless against the freak weather, with some pretty severe weather conditions occurring.

Website storm.ae shared footage and images that were captured on the Al Ain Road over the weekend; the area experienced heavy rainfall and extremely strong winds, which caused damage to trees, the landscape and even the natural wildlife.

The UAE’s National Center for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) issued weather warnings for the area, warning residents to ‘be prepared, be on the alert as hazardous weather events are forecast’.
