Need to test your vehicle for vehicle registration? Here's a guide to the many Vehicle Testing Centers (VTC) across Dubai you can visit.
The VTCs across Dubai are launched and ran by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in the emirate, and each offers different services related to vehicle inspections.
If you have bought a new car from a dealership, often they may assist with the first registration of your vehicle. After that however, you're on your own - to help, check out our guide to renewing your vehicle registration.
On the other hand, if you're a new car owner doing it yourself, or in your 3rd or 4th year of ownership and in need of a test, here you'll find the nearest VTC to you...
Why and when must I test my vehicle in Dubai?
As per Dubai's laws, vehicles must undergo tests at their respective frequencies to ensure they are road worthy. There are different tests available, including; a defect test, an export test, new vehicle registration test, periodic vehicle test and re-tests.
The two most likely tests you'll come across as a driver in Dubai is the new vehicle registration test, and the periodic vehicle test. The former must be done when a new vehicle is registered, and the latter is done after 3 years, and then every year thereafter for light, private vehicles. Periodic tests must be held every year for commercial vehicles, as well as heavy vehicles.

For those in need of quick vehicle registration services, there is another VTC in Al Qusais, on Amman Road in Industrial Area 3. At this RTA Vehicle Testing Center, which is open from 7am until 10pm, the following services are available for Dubai drivers:

Platinum Vehicles Registration Services
Lastly, there is a Platinum Vehicles Registration Services available for Dubai drivers on the ground floor of The Dubai Mall, in the cinema parking, level P1. Here, drivers may have their vehicle renewal test as well as their registration test. The Platinum VTC in The Dubai Mall is open from 8am until 10pm on Saturdays to Thursdays, and from 2pm until 10pm on Fridays.
