Dubai Property Guide: Mirdif

Mirdif location

I’ve been living in Mirdif, Dubai for 2 years. To begin with I chose Mirdif because it was still one of the most affordable places in Dubai. These days, Mirdif and Al Warqa properties are still very much affordable, especially as property rents have recently come down.

With easy access to Emirates Road, Al Khail Road and Festival City Road, it’s very good location to be for anyone working on Sheikh Zayed Road or on the Airport side of town.

Close to the airport

People complain about the airplane noise – yes, Mirdif is close to the airport and is under the flight path. But it really depends which side of Mirdif you live in. And in Al Warqa, you can’t hear the planes at all.

Mirdif is ideal if you have a family or are a couple. There is a real family feeling and it doesn't seem like you are actually living in a huge city like Dubai. The area is made up of mostly family sized villas, although a lot of new apartments have come up both in Mirdif and in Al Warqa.

Shopping and facilities at Uptown Mirdif

The shopping area of Uptown Mirdiff is outside and open plan. It's a very pleasant place to shop and eat, except for the hot months of July, August and September.

It’s got enough space for the kids to cycle or run about to the various fountains which are dotted here and there. It's a great place for Brunch on a Friday.

It has a Fitness First gym which has a swimming pool and usually has a few offers for new members. 

Food shopping

Uptown Mirdif has a Spinneys, and the new Arabian Mall has got a new hypermarket. There is also a City Centre with Carefour in the works due to be completed within the next 2 years…

Festival City is close

10-15 mins drive away is Festival City with enough shops, restaurants and bars to keep everyone happy!

Negatives of Mirdif

On a negative, Mirdif doesn’t really have a night life (if bars is your kind of thing). None of the restaurants have liquor licenses but, as mentioned before, a mere taxi ride away is Festival City and Irish Village and all the entertainment you can find there.

Schools and Nurseries near Mirdif

There are plenty of schools and nurseries in the area and with 2 main parks it really is ideal place to have your family home.
