Hi everyone,
My husband and I will be moving to Abu Dhabi in August with our 3 year old son. We have been looking at houses on Property finder and Dubizzle, and have found we like the interiors of the Al Raha Gardens Villas the most. However we have some concerns that I am hoping someone will be able to help us with please.

Is The Al Raha Gardens complex family friendly?
How much are the utility bills at the moment? (I've seen on here that they used to be very high)
If we lived in Al Raha Gardens how long would it take us to get to Khalifa A, as we are looking at the Windsor Nursery as a potential for our son?

Any other advice on moving from England would be really appreciated, I'm feeling quite overwhelmed at the moment as I have never been to AD before and feel like there is so much information I need but not quite sure how to go about finding it. I would really appreciate any information on leasing a car, such as costs and types, and where we could buy decent furniture without breaking the bank as we are coming with just our clothes and my sons toys.

I feel like we may get over charged on things as wherever we contact for quotes ask our budget before giving any information...lol

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Hi - just wondering where you ended up living and how you're finding it. We're looking to move over the summer and it would be great to hear your thoughts on the area and cost of living. Thanks

Thank you for the reply busybee2 that's very useful, as far as you know have the utility bills gone down in Al Raha Gardens? Also how negotiable are rents and estate agent commissions? the bills came down from the very beginning, because the big district cooler was only working for a handful of villas, once they were all being used, the price comes down, bit like buying in bulk etc. rents well raha gardens is not an expat owned development so the rents may not be negotiable it depends on each landlord, and usually the agent comission is a standard percentage, its a joke that you have to pay it but thats what happens, so there is no choice in the matter, but they hardly do very much for such an amount.
