Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates
Students who are not local Hong Kongers but graduated from a full-time course in Hong Kong are eligible to apply for a visa under the Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates (IANG).
If the student applies within 6 months of graduation, no offer of employment will need to be produced to receive the visa.
However, if the student graduated more than 6 months ago, she must have a bona fide offer of employment in order to secure an IANG visa.
The first time you apply for an IANG visa it will be valid for a period of one year. The validity of the visa will be extended upon extension.
General Employment Policy
If you have a degree from a university outside of Hong Kong, along with relevant skills and experience, you could be eligible to be a skilled migrant and obtain a visa under the GEP. The GEP does not apply to residents of Mainland China.
In order to successfully apply for a GEP the applicant must have a confirmed offer of employment where there is a vacancy that is relevant to their skills and qualifications. It should also be a position that cannot easily be filled by local labour.
Chinese nationals who live in a country other than China can apply for a GEP provided that they have been resident in the country for longer than a year.
The first time you apply for a GEP visa it will be valid for a period of one year. The validity of the visa will be extended upon extension.
Admission Scheme for Mainland Talents and Professionals
Residents from Mainland China who have not been educated in Hong Kong but have the relevant skills and experience can apply for an Admission Scheme for Mainland Talents and Professionals (ASMTP) visa. The applicant must have an offer of employment.
The first time you apply for an ASMPT visa it will be valid for a period of one year. The validity of the visa will be extended upon extension.
These immigration rules do not apply to citizens of the following countries:
Afghanistan
Albania
Cambodia
Cuba
Laos
Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea)
Nepal
Vietnam
