And we are back to happiest baby on the block and sleeping issues are all solved now. (knocking on wood) He actually slept from 7.30 pm last night till 7.30am this morning. I didnt really like it because I wanted to give him his bottle as usual coz he normally wakes up around midnight or else at 4am. So the only person UP at midnight and 4am was ME...deliberating whether or not to do a dreamfeed....which I didnt and he woke up happy and babbling.

Poor baby.... Hope he feels better soon. Sucking is a natural thing for a baby.

I think he is finally getting over it....he went to sleep yesterday without crying for it and naps this morning as well. Daddy put em to bed this evening so he was screaming again, but will see tomorrow how it goes.. At least now he sleeps till 1am and than after feed he slept again till 7.30am. So thats a good start!!

I'd say give it to him. Babies find the sucking very comforting. Both my boys have been sucky babies and without pacifiers I would have gone nuts. It's not too long till he'll be able to put it back in his mouth by himself. I'd rather wake up to pop a dummy back in his mouth all night long then have to wake up to him screaming and trying to consol him but not being able to:-(

Hi, Oh poor you and poor baby, is it worth keeping one hand out of the swaddle if he is desperate and a very sucky baby he may find his thumb.

:) I am not an expert at I cudnt even get my son to accept the pacifier.. and i wish i cud! But he is only 4 months old.. and expecting to sleep for the whole night is kinda too much on the poor thing :) I think on an average mothers dont get a full night sleep till the baby is about 12months.. but of course this depends from baby to baby. And kids that age actually find comfort in sucking.. so maybe u should just give it to him... ofcourse, if he was 7-9months, i wouldnt say give in.. but he is so tiny.. :) Good luck!

My 4 month old son was waking up every single hour for his pacifier so his dad and I decided to go COLD TURKEY 5 days ago and he is [b'>miserable[/b'>...I am not a fan of crying it out but this is really starting to look like it. I hold him while he screams himself to sleep at night. He screams himself silly in the car seat. I went from having the happiest baby on the block to the most miserable baby on the block. People keep telling me I am weaning him to fast but we really need him to learn to sleep without this thing because we need some sleep as well. And he is to small to grab it and put it back PLUS he is one of those babies who cant sleep without a swaddle so he doesnt have his hands free to grab it even if he could do it. Another problem we need to solve asap.....pfft I am sooo tempted at giving it back to him but my husband tells me to stay strong and it will pass....WILL IT PASSSS????? I feel so bad for him and he was always such a sucky baby, used to be his personal pacifier when I was still breastfeeding..
