e-life was a nightmare but it was what seemed easiest to do when we got into our new villa where the fibre optic cable had been laid. Unless you have this - I think you can just whistle for it basically! There is a separate company that needs to come out to lay the cable to your house and they just will not coordinate with etisalat (this is according to a friend who gave up and got the satellite dish and super slow internet standard package). We had our own problems though with the surveyor taking the wrong routing code so that when the engineers came they couldn't set anything up. three times it took of going to etisalat and each time we had to start as if it was a new order so that none of the problems were noted. You can imagine my response when the second set of engineers just walked out saying "wrong routing code". I guess if you have the right one then you won't encounter the probs that we did. They were also very unhelpful about setting up the wireless through the house so we had to get a separate person to come out and paid an extra 1500 dirhams to have wireless boosted up through our house.
