I have a friend comming to stay who has a 9am meeting in the Heritage area of Sharjah, how long will it take by taxi to get there for a 9am meeting from Dubai Marina and what will the approx taxi fare be.

May be will cost around 100 dirhams? More than that, expect about 150 including the Sharjah surcharge. It costs about 70-80 dhs from the Marina area to the airport, never mind all that extra distance into Sharjah. Do you know for sure how to direct the driver in case he's unfamiliar with where you need to go?

How about taking the Metro up to City Center and take a taxi from there? Travelling against the traffic it should take you abt 1 hr; the fees for the taxi should be pprox AED 40 + 20 surcharge.

I would leave around 745am, although you will be going against the traffic most of the way leave a bit of time to spare just in case as Sharjah area can be unpredictible with traffic jams and accidents. May be will cost around 100 dirhams? There may be a surcharge for traveling into Sharjah as I think the taxis can't take passengers back to Dubai from Sharjah so they add a bit on from this end.
