Spongemonkey, I got ripped up one side and down the other last year on this forum for bringing it up and raising a concern over this. I was berated for sticking my nose into the lives of other kids that hung out with my daughter because the non chalant parents didn't see what the problem was. And after a incident with one of the girls last year that almost landed us all in jail I decided she was not allowed around the children with parents who showed no interest in preventing teen drinking. So I think for me amused is the word because now the paper says its happening so it must be a problem. :D <em>edited by bornconfused on 19/02/2011</em>

Of course this isn't new - who hasn't known for years about the kids having the "milkman" in their fone ? Before we left the UK i personally knew one boy who is heavily into drugs and a few more by name - not to mention a few adults !! And it's the same, if not worse here... eta - now that i've actually read the quoted article i see it refers to alcohol !! in the UK the milkman is your friendly neighbourhood drug dealer !! <em>edited by Sue62 on 17/02/2011</em>

I find it amusing it is now being brought to the newspapers. It has been a big problems since I moved here with teens. And when I have brought it up in the past, it has been pushed off as kids being kids, blah blah blah. NOW parents are concerned. Are they afraid of their child being flogged now? "amusing" isn't the word I would use - I agree that these things were known before and not spoken about in public like this - perhaps the need is there due to the increase of people who don't really know or do know but think it doesn't apply to them? You only have to look at the way some people here now think it is acceptable to go out in public...tells the story.

Perhaps the parents should be flogged instead of the teens..... :\: I said that the other day.. :D
