sounds like you may also need a Fairy Godmother Miss A. They have a facegroup page, Fairy Godmother Club Dubai. Oh my goodness, is this really up and running? If I'm correct it was an off the cuff remark I made months ago on a thread about older ladies being of help to young, struggling mums and calling themselves Fairy Godmothers. There were a few people posting about it being a good idea. Forgive me if I'm wrong :)

Have you thought about trying a SAD lamp? I know it seems strange to do so when there is a lot of sunshine in the ME but if you are not getting out into the sunshine because of how you are feeling then it may help. I use one everyday and it literally changed my life. I don't know if you can get them in the ME, but I am back and forwarded every other week to the UK, so would be happy to get one for you if that helps. Added I am in AD but my driver is in Dubai every other day so getting it to you will not be a problem. edited by Snitch on 09/03/2011

If you get one of those supernegative moods again, post on here and between us we'll sort you out! So pleased your DS slept a bit better today - that made the world of difference to me. I was at Children's Oasis today and it seemed lovely.

Miss Balamory, thanks so much for caring and asking... I didnt go online for a few days. I went to the doctor at Dubai London Clinic and we did blood test for thyroid and a few other things and apparently all was normal. We are now waiting untill I get my period so that we can test LH and FSH to rule out menopause.. I checked out the nursery at Hayya but they only take toddles from the age of 18months. (boo hoo hoo) We tested out a few agency maids but a few looked and acted as if they escaped from a circus so I wasnt going to leave my baby with them like ever... I did pass by Childrens Oasis nursery at the Palm and I did love it, so that might be an option if I do get one of those supernegative moods again where the whole world seems to crumble down on my head. For now I am feeling a lot better, thanks for all your support. Baby boy has slept 1 hour and ahalf today for the first time in months, so yeaay, maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel... xxxxx

The Children's Oasis Nursery at the Jumeirah Palm does proper day care, i.e. you can drop off by the hour all day long. Don't know what the age limits are but I am positive that they do take babies under one year of age. A friend takes her DD here and loves it - apparently they do playgroup-style afternoons where you can take them to see how they like it. I'm going to give it a go soon.

Thanks DC! Did you happen to get a look at what sort of stuff/activities etc they do? Has anyone heard from Miss A!!! Miss A, hope you are doing ok???xxxx They had a few kid-sized tables down one side then one of those play kitchen things, and a rug on the floor with some toys. Not that impressed, to be honest, but then my experience of nurseries is extremely limited give that DS is only 9 months and hasn't been to one!

Right, I popped over this afternoon. It's 35dhs per hour for the drop-off service in the afternoons after 1pm and they take toddlers from 2 years old. Nursery is for 18 months plus.
