Will you tell me when the sale is on? ;) So when you buy material, does it come in a set like for salwar kameezes? Or do you mix n match yourself? I'm trying to look at images for azaar, but can't find the one that I specifically want. They are not churidaars, not patialas, just sort of parallel pants with a snug fit around the hips. Are those specifically called azaars?

They do have a mark-up at JJ, Khaadi and similar. So if you go to Pakistan often (or have visitors coming in) its better to check out the catalogue and shop from Pakistan instead. However, Bareeza has a very different variety in "khulla kapda" that you can't find in Pakistan and they generally have a pre-summer sale so thats something you don't want to miss :) thanks for the info em2san :)

The current trend in Pakistan is not shalwars but loose pants called "azaars" or the "churidaars" that you mentioned. Cotton can fit very well but only if its of lawn quality and that gives a very casual effect. If you're looking for something semi-formal, it's best to go for chiffon. If you're going the stitching route: best to get the fabric from Deepak or Regal [both in Satwa'> or for the real Pakistani stuff, check out Bareeze [in Meena Bazar'>. And then there are quite a few new Pakistani shops in Meena Bazar that tailor Pakistani Clothes. I use "A.B's stitch" which I recommended on EW couple of days ago. If you're going the ready-made route; check out Khaadi [mainly cottons, on Jumeirah Road or Festival City'>, Bareeze [Meena Bazar, Diyafah Road and Sharjah'>, Junaid Jamshed [Meena Bazar'> or FnkAsia [Diyafah Road'>. Typically, I've noticed here that the Pakistani shalwar kameez's are different than the Indian ones. Like the shalwars are more like pants, and the kameez's are so much better fitted. I went to know what sort of fabric is best for these cuts. Don't think cotton will give it quite that fall. And where can I find nice ones here? I usually wear the Fabindia cotton churidaar ones but only when I'm back home in India with the in laws. Wouldn't mind getting a couple of these stitched. Will you help me out please? :)
