@ Simpleasabc...yeah totally agree with you...so love the Curves concept and such fabulous results!!! I infact managed a Curves in Toronto and loved working and working out there...Not sure if they will sell the equipment independantly..Most often these franchises are bought over by a local group who is the master franchisor and then they are run as seperate clubs...Have tried the strenght traing at Hayya...but not the same as a Curves 30 minute work out..
@ Canadian In Dxb...Hi there...which part of Canada are you from? we lived for 7 yrs in Toronto and was a great experience...Do you travel back often....My DS wants to visit this summer:))
@Mummyto3 you could try the strenght training at hayya..hope that helps...

Ladies only, no men, no make-up, no mirrors :) You can drop in to do a 30 min circuit any time the gym is open. You only spend 30 seconds at a time on each machine, the circuit is designed specifically for women's shapes - cardio, strength and stretching. There might be 10 other ladies there, there might be noone else. You can chat or not chat. There is a coach who encourages all of you. You can choose the music, if you're lucky :) Mostly, I go because I hate exercise and I'm not going to a gym to see or be seen, I'm going because I really must, and you feel as if you're amongst friendly comrades. The exercise made a huge difference to my shape when I was going regularly 3 times a week and I definitely had more energy than now that I don't go.
I was also upset to find there was no "Curves" here and that "Shape Express" was going out of business. I'd been wondering about sorting out a Curves franchise here, but it seems there is not a great demand and given that, as I understand it, 51% would have to be owned by a local sponsor, there is very little chance of an ex-pat being able to get a loan to set it up, or turning it into a going concern, I'm afraid..
Suppose it would cost too much for the 3 of us to invest in some Curves equipment for ourselves!
None in dxb as yet...have been a curves member for ages in toronto and so miss my workout!!! Ibeleive Shape express is similar...but as luck would have it...i called the lady that owns both locations and she informed me that they both are closing down:((
Lets hope Curves openes here soon:)))
