Oh thanks!!!
Im actually visiting from Bahrain and am used to remembering landmarks. And do have a vague idea of the area.
You're right ...didnt think of the way back!!!
Actually it's usually dead easy. The home phone number serves as a "file" so if your hosts have called taxi's previously, the address details (sometimes including directions) is noted.
Still best to find out your nearest landmark, and be prepared to stand out in the street if the driver calls you and sounds confused.
Otherwise you just ring 04 20 80808 (from their home phone, so the system "see's it) and follow the prompts.
The tricky part is guiding the taxi back to their house at the end of the day .......................
Hi..I am visiting Dubai and have been at a hotel for the last 3 days with easy access to a taxi. However, we are moving in with some friends for another 4-5 days. Since they will be at work in the mornings, I was hoping to go out and about with my kids. Is it easy to call a taxi at home? I will be staying in the Mirdiff area.
What number should I call at? and if I have a street address can they come without my giving specific directions?
Any thing I should be careful about?
Also - do all of them drive this fast???
