Need some help ladies, Made kiddy winks fav dinner Curried Pumpkin Soup. Used a brand of curry powder I've never heard of and its so hot it'll clear any cold or flu (Might patent it) Anything I can add to calm it down so I don't have to feed them beans on toast?

Mine was awful but the kids were troopers and ate it anyway although 7 year old DD asked if we could not have the baby food again ... put the Tana Ramsay red lentil sauce for the chicken in the blender as putting it through the sieve was taking too long - it tasted average but looked gross :)

Potato will calm it down-and you could also get them to spoon into onto a bed on rice to dilute the flavour further-with a dollop of natural yoghurt on the side Nice :)

Does it have to be something you have in your pantry or can you pop out to the shops again? Unless you stretch it out with more pumpkin, stock and cream [thereby making several pints of the stuff!'> I would be starting again from scratch if it were me. The amount of chilli in your 'hot' soup has already nullified the taste of pumpkin so stretching it out just with cream or stock will reduce the pumpkin flavour even more. Pop the soup you've made into tupperwares, freeze and then use at a later date as a base for a soup for adults, where the heat won't be that much of a problem.

Add a grated white or sweet potato and 1.5 cups of stock. Alternately you can add a can of coconut milk. Both methods will tone the heat down.

Some single cream might help?
