Apparently, dorter (nearly 16) was invited to a party at a friend's house in the Lakes the other day. Entrance was AED50 which was presumably to pay for alcohol to be imbibed. I know the family and am amazed that the parents would allow this. How could this be organized without parents realizing what was going on? What the **** is dorter? cant you spell DAUGHTER simpleasabc is too busy with her punctuation to worry about spelling!!! (j.k j.k simpleasabc, just had to be done) ;) No prob, I seem to be waging a one-woman war against misplaced apostrophes here :) Don't worry, one day I will doubtless make a glaring apostrophe error and have egg all over my face :) OTOH, I assert my right to knowingly use "dorter" when talking about my child - it's a JOKE, I know what I'm doing :) I do my own thing, I don't harrass everyone about using DS, DD, DH, etc and I only mention apostrophes every other post :) well, I think life would be much easier without punctuation ;) I think e e cummings agreed :)

I don't know if teenagers would find this fun but I attended a tween party at the Living Rooms Cafe at Festival City and it was a lot of fun. The staff organized board game and computer game competitions and served food from an external menu [pizzas, hotdogs, burgers'> and they rounded off the party with a karaoke session :) That sounds interesting...I'll check it out tomorrow. Thanks!

What the **** is dorter? cant you spell DAUGHTER Of course I can spell, but I much prefer my deliberate misspelling of my affectionate name for my female child to the ubiquitous DD, which, along with DS and DH, irritates me immensely. Bowling? Thanks Pomegranate...I think 25 might be a bit too many for that? If you go to Al NAsr leisure land you can hire their entire bowling alley. I think it has about 5 lanes. Oh - I didn't know that! I'll look into it. Thanks

Sega? I know he's not keen on disco but the atlantis has the teens lounge which hosts all kinds of parties. Umm, you could just have a house party, order a shawarma man to cater and have everyone hang out? Problem with the Atlantis is that there's a sort of playstation/games room and he says all the boys just go off in there. House party....maybe if I can't think of anything else and I can face it. Thanks a lot.
