Hi, My boyfriend is moving to Abu Dhabi to take a job and I want to move also, but in order to do so I need a job that will sponsor me, since we can't live together and since he cant sponsor me. I am a Social Worker in the USA and would prefer to have a similiar job, but I am up for really any job with a decent pay. If you know of any places to look or have any connections please let me know. He is moving in August and I would liek to move sometime between August and May. Thank you!!!! Is he in company accomodation?. Why can you not live together. Hundreds of people here do ( i know it isnt allowed so please dont jump on me but hundreds do here) -S

I am a licensed MFT in the USA and it has been tough finding places that hire mental health practitioners here in the UAE. There are more places that hire in Dubai than Abu Dhabi. The place that I know is American Psychiatric and Neurology Center in Abu Dhabi. You will need to have all your diplomas from high school on attested with your license. Letters of recommendation from the last 8 employers or maybe 8 years. I don't remember. There contact information is online and it doesn't hurt to send in your resume (Called a CV here) also you need to add a picture of yourself at the top of the CV. Little bit different than in the states. It should be passport size. You can also try some of the schools in the area. Good luck. I am currently teaching at a nursery, but on my husbands visa. The pay is not comparable, but some places offer visas along with a monthly salary but no housing stipend. <em>edited by sonomachic on 21/06/2012</em>

Thank you!!!! -S why dont you get married and then you can come and live with him, and look for a job whilst here, its much easier when you are here. you could always work in a school as a teaching assistant etc for some money but they will not sponsor you usually they do it on a fathers or husbands sponsorship.
