Good afternoon

We weren’t sure if Yellow Fever vaccination was obligatory for Zanzibar. Doctor in MediClinic yesterday recommended that we take it but said that it is very low risk.

However, the Tanzanian authorities may ask for the certificate on arrival. Any ideas whereabouts I should go for the vaccine please?

Hi again, we travelled in March of this year. As far as I know these particular vaccines are just required if you are travelling to Zanzibar from a different country in Africa as some parts are high risk. I would advise you to get it done anyhow just in case but I doubt that they will ask you to show them the certificate, it's usually just for your own good.

Zuhairah When was the last time you visited Zanzibar? I am confused. Some are going without the certificate but if it's required it will be too late when we arrive at customs and have to have a jab. We are not going anywhere remote, just within the hotel and probably to Stone Town.

I agree it's better safe than being sorry however, the vaccination certificate is only to be presented upon arrival if you come from a high risk area which UAE is not the case. This is what they told us last time we visited Zanzibar.
