Is anyone a member of Aramex's Shop and Ship? My friend just told me about it and she said she gets anything from the US and pretty quick.
Any feedback?

Well, I took a new route to Aramex today and I was pleasantly surprised!!!!!! Coming from west bay, I went the way I usually go to the c-ring and then instead of turning right on Salwa, I went to the next major intersection called Abi bin abi talib, which runs parallel to salwa. That took me right to the r/a that aramex is on :) super smooth drive :) edited by ccdoha on 10/01/2012

She had a right pile of packages in Landmark and they seemed pretty organised about the whole thing. I didn't even have to tell her my customer number - she just asked for my name and then said straight away that my parcel wasn't in without even having to look it up. She was very certain as well that I would have got a text if it had come in. I'd definitely have faith in them to do it again. Depends on how excited I am about getting the package though - in this case I couldn't wait another 24 hours!

thanks amy - so in theory, you can request it and it might happen the next day and they should send an SMS... hmmmmm, to deal with traffic or deal with 'waiting, wondering, hoping...'

DH has picked up two packages of ours from Landmark in the past so I guess this is possible.

OK. So I hadn't heard anything by 4pm and I thought I would just pop to Landmark to see if it was there. It wasn;t :( She said they normally don't arrive until the next day after the request and that they would SMS me when it came in. I couldn't wait another day as I was too excited about my parcel, so I drove over to the main branch and picked it up there instead! It was only a 10 minute queue and they seem a bit more organised than last time I went - I moaned about it on Twitter at the time and their marketing guys were surprisingly good about picking up on my Twitter complaints.

Good luck Amy77. I did actually get a package delivered to Aramex at landmark successfully just prior to xmas so I know the process does work. However, as with all things here, they could well have changed their minds / policy since then. But worth a try. As for home delivery, we all know it's achievable and is done in other ME countries but this delightful place is unique in it's lack of customer service. I've just this am had the pleasure of taking my car to the Ford garage in the industrial area...best I say nothing....

yes, let us know...I am a bit skeptical even if they say they will send it to Landmark as it will just be one more opportunity for it to get lost :( but I could do without the stress of Salwa rd

Do let us know how it goes!!! I just had hubby pick up a package yesterday from Aramex (main location)...but i dont think he will do it again...horrid traffic, parking issues etc... If I could pickup from Landmark that would be awesome! And Shop & Ship also delivererd to our home in Bahrain...it was soooo simple! and stress free!

OK well, she was quite hard to understand as the line kept breaking up, but she said she will put in the request for it to be transferred to Landmark and that they would try and do it today, but it seems like she has to request it as it depends on space availability. I did emphasise that I would pick it up today which seemed to help.

I will settle this discussion :D - I've got 2 packages waiting for me at Aramex. I will give them a call and see if they will deliver it to landmark for me.....

I was also told that we could not receive Shop and Ship packages at Landmark. I'm wondering if they had an issue with people NOT picking up on the same day and then having no storage space? I'm pretty sure you can arrange to have the Education City branch as your regular pick-up location, but that is probably only an option for people who work there. With regard to home delivery, Aramex does this but NOT for Shop and Ship deliveries. Aramex is a courier service that anyone can use for local and international deliveries, apart from their Shop and Ship service. The rates are much higher than the Shop and Ship rates. I think its ridiculous that they can provide the home delivery service for Shop and Ship in Dubai but not here.

Seems the case that Aramex S&S are telling customers different things then - 'cos I was told only 5 months ago that we had to go to their main office to collect stuff - never knew you could collect at Landmark. I asked if we could get stuff delivered to our house and they said no....will have to re-check with them I think....

I've specifically asked them if they can send my pkgs to Landmark and they have told me NO Aramex does deliver to the home, but I don't know how to get it. I only know because I did some work with Vodafone and they shipped something to me directly and it was an Aramex delivery man.

If you can't face the journey to Aramex they will deliver your package (if not too large) to their kiosk in landmark for collection there. Once you have rec'd their text with shipment number and cost, give them a call and ask for delivery to Landmark. They will deliver after 11 am to Landmark and you have to collect on the same day as they don't have storage there. Not quite the home delivery we enjoyed in Dubai but slightly less painful than navigating dec roundabout, trying to park at aramex and waiting in their queue whilst you watch the 'package men' lob the boxes around trying to find yours amongst the chaos....!

I think it is 41 QR for first .5 kg and 38 QR for every .5 kg after that

Yes - have had an account for a few years now. Joined up in Dubai and when we moved to Doha, they gave us a new account for here at no extra charge. Have used it a couple of times here in Doha and no problems so far. In Dubai they deliver to your home, but here no, so you have to pick the parcels up. Beware of the delivery charges though, as if you order a heavy item, can be very costly - I only ship light stuff....delivery has been quick, so far.... edited by chizz on 08/01/2012
