Thanks so much ladies - info is really appreciated! I will contact them. I have been searching and many centers have come up, I just wanted to look beyond the websites you know. I am a speech therapist myself and hoping to get employed where my son is admitted or vice versa. I will be applying for both of us next week and hopefully will have some positive outcome.

There also is the Future Center in Mohammed Bin Zayed. A friend has her son there and she is reasonably happy. It is difficult to get in though, there is a waiting list.

Two places for you to contact: Kids First - they have just opened in Abu Dhabi - if you google, you will find the Dubai phone number, but if you contact them they will give you info re their new AD branch. New England Centre for Children - the children are all emirati there, but they run a very good outreach and training service http://www.neccabudhabi.org/english/ Good luck.

Hello ladies, My husband and I are planning to move to Abu Dhabi from Arizona, USA end of August. One of the most important deciding factor of our move will be knowledge regarding availability of services for our 15 year old son with autism. I have been searching online and see a good amount of schools and centers but I don’t know how much to rely on that virtual information. I would really appreciate if someone who has a child/adolescent with autism or works with this population can share experience with me. I am a speech pathologist myself and have worked with my son in collaboration with teachers and therapist for the past 11 years, ran in home program for him for first five years of his diagnosis and am trained in basic autism-related basic interventions. If I can find a decent platform to start with, I would be able to monitor his progress and program. I am particularly looking for sensory integration and vocational training/transitioning. Any information will be helpful. Thanks in advance.
