How to renew your ILOE insurance in the UAE?
Once it's getting closer to your current policy's expiry date, you will receive a text message reminding you to renew.
You can renew your ILOE insurance before its expiry date or even shortly after. Below is a quick step-by-step guide:
- Visit the official ILOE insurance website: https://www.iloe.ae/
- Since you're renewing your insurance policy, click on the red 'Subscribe/Renew Here' button.
- A pop-up message will appear, and you must tap on the 'Subscribe Here' button.
- It will lead you to a new web page. Under the 'Individual' category, select the option that applies to you. There are 3 options: Private sector, Federal Government employee (Public sector), or Non-Registered in MOHRE (Free-zone workers).
- Click the 'Confirm' button.
- Sign in your existing account using an OTP code sent to your mobile number or your Registered User login credentials.
- You will be given the option to renew your insurance policy.
- Tap on 'Renew' or 'Subscribe' and you will be taken to a card payment tab.
- Upon successful payment, your ILOE insurance will be renewed for another year.
Who are not eligible for the ILOE insurance?
The ILOE insurance is not mandatory to individuals in the following categories:
- Domestic helpers.
- Those below the age of 18.
- Investors or owners of the companies they work at.
- UAE citizens who have fulfilled the conditions for referral to retirement.
- Retirees who are entitled to a pension and joined a new job.
What happens if I don't renew my ILOE insurance?
Subscribing to the UAE's ILOE insurance scheme is mandatory by law if you are a government or private sector employee (even Freezone workers must have an ILOE subscription).
A fine of AED 400 will be applied to workers who fail to sign up or renew their ILOE insurance policy.
