I need to find someone who can come and measure, let me see samples, make and fit curtains and blinds for me.

Thanks for Kashif recommendation. We now have beautiful roman blinds in our bedrooms. Great service, prompt and reliable, came out the cheapest of the three we looked at as well ;)

I used Kashif who was recommended on here .He was very professional, turned up on time with a huge selection of fabric samples and designs. He gave a quote the same evening and within one week he was back and had all the villa fitted with new curtains.,roman blinds as well. We were very happy with the price and service. His number is 050-9925600.

Hi busybee:) saw this post thanks to Leen who sent me this link! I was wondering, do you have the location/phone number of this place. I would love to go and check it out. Thanks so much:) Hi, dimple28. I used Khalidya curtains also. Great job, really fast. I have several phone numbers for them. I'll put them all here, as I'm not sure which is correct. I dealt with Mr al Turkani there. The numbers I have are: 02 634 3859, 02 445 7085 and 050 615 8817 ( think the 050 number is Mr al Turkani's mobile) They are located on 5th between 26th St and 22nd. If you are on the Corniche heading toward Marina Mall, turn left onto 26th St. Go to the first light (Qatar Airways on left corner) and turn left onto 5th St (not sure if it's called Hamdan St at that point or not). At next light you will see All Prints on right corner. Park around there, Khalidya Curtains is on 5th, same side of street as All Prints, several doors down. Great thanks so much adpat:) I will go and check them out; your information is really helpful; many thanks!

And the guy who owns the place is really sweet... he always comes out and says hi everytime we walk past. yes isnt he. he is very helpful and will do what he can to help you. obviously it depends on what fabric etc you choose but if you go like for like shadows are more expensive and more difficult to get to in town too. If you don't mind the trek to Dubai and really want to save money, the shops at Dragon Mart will do lined custom curtains for you for very good prices. My friend got some lovely ones made there and liked the experience.

I used a guy called Jacob in the end, his quote was 3000 less than the lowest of the other three quoted. ranged from 14,800 to 29,000 for more or less the same lot of curtains/fabrics. he had them made in less than a week, and had them all hung in a day. great job.

i always use khalyida curtains, just 2 buildings frontside away from all prints. sedar etc are very expensive and shadows another popular choice is too more expensive for the same thing. Agree BB2! About 1.5 years ago when we moved within AD I had Khaladiya Curtains make our curtains - they are in the next block from us so thought I would support local. They were great.. quick, perfectly made and I took the exact samples (block out for one and pure silk for another) to Shadows whom I used last time and for exactly the same curtains they were almost 1,500dhs cheaper! They were also much faster than Shadows. Have also had bed runners made there too. And the guy who owns the place is really sweet... he always comes out and says hi everytime we walk past.

Over the years and locations I have used some others and have had some really dodgy service. This past February, on a friend's recommendation I tried Dubai curtains (yes they are in AD backside of Lifeline hospital on Muroor). The contact I have is Ajith mobile 050 130 9637 They were brilliant, and there is a huge selection. I had chiffons for the hall, lounge and two bedrooms, blackout drapes, regular drapes, and some very swanky fancy OTT beady velvet ones made. The men who came all knew exactly what they were doing, and there were no surprises There is Mawafiq around there so bring a few coins. Cheers
