Hi Ladies, I am planning our flight home for the summer holiday and I just want to pick your brains on ideas on how to make the seating arrangements as comfortable as possible for DH, me and our 4 year old.
I found this product on line: Cares - child aviation restraint system (it converts the plane seat into a "car seat" type restraint... Does anyone have knowledge of this? I found that my son is all over the place when sleeping but when he is restraint in his car seat he sleeps fine in an upright position. Not to mention that I think it is safer.
Any other helpful tips will be much appreciated.

Yes, it's supposed to be safer and I think it must be. I used one for my son - I think it definitely helped keeping him in his seat for take-off / landings etc. It would probably help a bit with sleeping, although not quite the same effect as carseat because they're not really 'cocooned' the same way in a plane seat as they are in a carseat. The other thing is that there is no crotch strap so they do/can slip down. Mmmmmm did not notice the crotch thing... And they are about 400 dirham so it might just be best to take a car seat. Thanx for your reply.

I bought one when I lived in the Caribbean as when my daughter turned 2 she was quite thin and would slip out from under the regular seat belt. American Airlines allowed me to use it as they actually sell them but I was asked not to use it when I travelled with BA! If it is the same kind I had then it loops over the back of the seat and fastens at the back of the tray table of the person behind you. The best thing was the safety aspect as it holds them in place for take off and landing but can be undone whilst sleeping without disturbing them. I probably used it up until my daughter turned 4?
