We are looking to get to Dubai during EID holidays for short stay.
We plan to on 29/8. Other than taxi - is there a bus for example which we could take?
If so - where does it depart and is it half decent..
Many thanks.
Ann

I'm not sure if EID effects the times but you can get a bus gr abu dhabi bus station got 15 AED it's clean And air coned. I used it twice a week for three weeks. It takes an hour and 20 mins if you get off the first stop in Dubai it's right next to the metro. To get backs a bit of mission as the only place you can get it from is ghubaiba. Worth it thou as it's only 15 AED back too. Hope it helps. Emma

Etihad now has a stop at Dubai Marina (not far from MOE) and will take non Etihad passengers at a fee.

Their map is a bit confusing, but you could call them to find out. http://dubaimetro.eu/stations Worst case scenario, you could just take a taxi to the nearest station, then get the metro to MOE.

I think (?) there's an MRT station near the bus station and from there you can get the MRT dorect to Mall of the Emirates. Let me check.

Thanks Natalie. We would be looking at getting out at Mall of Emirates (for Jumerah). I had heard that Emirates - apparently - had a bus laid for travel either way - but probably this is only for flight users from DXB. Thanks anyhow for help.

I used to take the bus from Dubai to Al Ain on a weekly basis for a month. It's very good - clean, efficient, the drivers and ticket agents are helpful. The good thing about them is that they just fill up and go once they're full, so they end up leaving every 15 to 20 minutes. It was only 20 dirhams too. This was 2 years ago, so the price may have gone up slightly. You would be arriving at the main bus station in Dubai and it's very easy to get taxis from there. edited by natalie8 on 12/08/2011
