From what I've read online, it seems as though it is possible to sponsor your parents under certain circumstances. I'm wondering if anyone knows if the sponsored parents must reside with me or if then can rent them a apartment?

I have a job opportunity in Abu Dhabi but as an only child don't want to leave my parent without anyone to look after them. I thought maybe if they rented out their house here in the States they could use that money to rent a place close to me.

Would greatly appreciate any feedback on this! thanks!

I am not sure of the exact law, however, generally it is permitted that you sponsor our parents if there is no one to look after them except you, either male or female, as in your situation. I would imagine that that if they required looking after, they would need to reside with you, of course. Otherwise they could stay living in their home country enjoying a mobile social life. It would be boring for them here, I would think, living alone.
