If the UAE isn’t home to all technological advancement, then we don’t know who is.
Abu Dhabi just made headlines for a new smart system to help residents tie the knot without the accompanied hassle.
In efforts to properly streamline and fast-track marriage contract issuance and registration, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department released this new smart service.
The digital application is available on iPads in all external marriage offices across the emirate and will help residents register their marriage contracts without a visit to the main courts in Abu Dhabi.
To make tying the knot easier in Abu Dhabi, the application is available through the iPads and here’s how it works:
- 1. You must submit the necessary date of your marriage priorly
- 2. You must submit a testimony by a witness to your marriage priorly
- 3. Apply for the marriage contract registration via the iPad at the offices
- 4. If all data is available, then the marriage contract is done quickly and efficiently using a card reader device
This car reader device is the gateway to all the marriage records in the emirate – it is able to read all the required documents and then immediately issue the contract to the judicial department.
Getting married in the UAE
In Abu Dhabi alone, there has been a total of 4,100 marriages from January to September of this year – 1,743 of these were registered at the judicial department headquarters and the remaining were done by marriage officers in other judicial offices in the emirate.
The Abu Dhabi judicial department has around 40 licensed officers around the emirate to help with the marriage contracts in the emirate and can now use the new iPad smart systems to help fast-track the registered marriage contracts.
