Staying in Abu Dhabi? You can now book appointments at Seha facilities, the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, through WhatsApp.

The new WhatsApp allows patients in the emirate to make appointments, cancel or manage existing ones, create follow-ups, book vaccines, locate Seha centres, access general information, and keep up with latest news and updates in under two minutes.

It's an AI-enabled service that will complement other booking services by Seha’s call centre as well as its patient portal.

How to use the Seha WhatsApp booking service

To use the Seha WhatsApp service, simply do the following:

  • Save the number 02 410 2200 on your phone and start a new WhatsApp chat with the contact no.
  • Initiate the conversation and you will automatically be given a menu allowing you to book, modify, cancel, view, or follow-up with your appointments.

If you want to schedule an appointment, you will first need to undergo an authentication check using your Emirates ID and phone number.

The WhatsApp service also provides information on Seha centre locations and their working hours.

On Monday, the official Seha account tweeted: "Our goal is to be by your side 24/7 which is why we launched our Whatsapp for Business Channel to further elevate your patient experience and simplify access to our services."

Bader Al Qubaisi, the group chief information officer at Seha, said the new WhatsApp service was introduced a survey study.

"Based on recent patient experience survey results, 70 per cent of Seha’s patients asked for self-services to help them easily manage their appointments and other services, particularly on one of the most popular social media apps on mobile phones, WhatsApp,” Mr. Al Qubaisi said.
